Together, we March for Meals!
February 28, 2017Marie J. Nedich

March for Meals is a month-long campaign that recognizes the historic achievement of the Older Americans Act signed by President Nixon on March 22, 1972. This paved the way for Meals on Wheels as we know it today.

During the month of March, we will join more than 250 other Meals on Wheels programs around the country for the 15th annual #MarchForMeals celebration. This year, we have an exciting lineup of civic leaders, athletes, entertainers, and loyal supporters joining us to make sure homebound seniors are not forgotten.

For 3,600 seniors and adults with disabilities, Meals on Wheels is an essential ingredient in their daily lives. We deliver nutritious food directly to their doors, and provide safety checks and friendly visits that allow seniors to stay in their homes.

In the past decade, we have more than tripled the number of meals we deliver from 650,000 in 2007 to over 1.7 million meals in 2016. By participating in #MarchForMeals, you join a nationwide effort to support the needs of homebound seniors today and for generations to come.
