Gala Volunteering
Join us as an important and valued Volunteer for our 36th Annual Star Chefs & Vintners Gala on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Fort Mason, San Francisco. This event raises one-third of the necessary funds to help MOWSF provide nutritious meals and safety checks to over 5000 home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities in San Francisco. This fabulous and formal, black-tie event is not to be missed if you enjoy spectacular culinary and wine options from all around the Bay Area. Please sign up for a shift today as this event is popular and positions get filled on a first come first serve basis. Please note that Sunday, May 19 is also Bay to Breakers in San Francisco. If you sign up for as shift, please make note of the timing so you can cross the city and be on time for your volunteer assignment.

Volunteer Jobs
Chef/Vintner Load In & Load Out
Assist all chef and winery personnel with loading in and loading out of their displays, supplies, wine, and food, and transporting them to the designated areas. This volunteer role helps us to provide great customer service to chefs volunteering at the Gala!

Event Prep & Set Up
Assist with Gala catering team and vendor Taste Catering with setting out linens, glasses, flatware. In addition, table, chairs and other furniture will need to be placed and organized around the event. Other duties as assigned may be asked as the Gala is getting staged for Sunday May 19th event.
Saturday, May 18th
Silent Auction Guest Relations
Greet guests and make them feel welcome; monitor auction items, answer questions, encourage bidding, package up items at the close of the auction, and move items to the redemption room. Great customer service skills and people skills needed for this guest facing position.

This is a “Hurry up and Wait” position where you will be asked to help where needed at the event. Jobs may consist of helping caterers set up event; chef and winery staff assistance, pouring wine or other beverages!
