Valentine's Day

We try to acknowledge the “big days” for our clients: their birthdays and the winter holidays. We also make sure every senior client gets a Valentine’s Day card made by someone like you! This is great for kids, schools, churches and synagogues, corporate groups, and gatherings of creative friends. Contact us for more details on the guidelines we have for cards for our clients.

May – Annual Star Chefs & Vintners Gala

Our biggest fund raiser of the year! The event's 250 volunteers play a central role at this noted San Francisco foodie event. The best chefs and vintners in the Bay Area bring their food and drink to the Fort Mason Pavilion for a great party and a great cause. Volunteers have a great time working hard putting on this event, and get to enjoy some of the party, too. Many volunteer return year after year. Join the team!

October – San Francisco Magazine's Annual FallFest

Another great foodie fund raiser, this time at Justin Herman Plaza. Again, great chefs and vintner's gather for a good cause. We recruit about 150 volunteers to help at this delightful event that takes place on the Sunday of Fleet Week. Volunteers always have a great time at this sun-filled party.

Thanksgiving

We need about 400 volunteers to deliver our hot Thanksgiving meals throughout the city. We have routes from 8am – 2pm, making it possible for you to deliver some meals and get home in time for your Thanksgiving celebration. This is a great opportunity for groups of friends, families with children, and corporate groups. Contact us early—by mid-November we are often already full.

Also, we include a homemade placemat for every client meal on this day. This is a great volunteer activity for kids, schools, churches and synagogues, corporate groups, and gatherings of creative friends. Contact us for more details on the guidelines we have for placemats for our clients.

The Holidays in December

Our commitment to our clients continues into December, as we organize a drive for gifts, prepare holiday bags, and make holiday cards. We collect soap, non-slip socks, notepads and pens, and more. Corporate groups and other organizations often organize gift drives, or make corporate donations for these gifts. We also invite groups of 10-20 people to wrap and stuff gifts the first two weeks of December. Finally, we ask groups to make cards for our clients. This is great for kids, schools, churches and synagogues, corporate groups, and gatherings of creative friends. Contact us for more details on the guidelines we have for cards for our clients. Please note that our regular drivers deliver meals to our clients on Christmas, so we do not need any assistance with holiday food deliveries.

Year Round

We have meaningful volunteer activities for a wide variety of interests and time availabilities. For more information, go to our Volunteer Opportunity Page.
