The Soda Pop Panthers, a San Francisco based women’s volleyball tea, recently jumped behind the bar at the Royal Tug Yacht Club to raise money for Meals On Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF). To raise the funds, the Panthers volunteered as bartenders as part of a charity guest bartending event, during which all tips generated between 6 and 9 p.m. went towards their charity of choice, which in this case was MOWSF!

Katrina, one of the team members, works closely with MOWSF seniors, and her passion for this cause inspired her team to help out. The Panthers play in a weekly women’s volleyball league at the Richmond Recreation Center put on by San Francisco Recreation and Parks. A few times a year they take a break from serving up volleyballs to serving drinks, all in the name of charity. This time around, the Panthers raised $430 for MOWSF in just a few hours.

The Panthers work with a group of bars in San Francisco, including Soda Popinski’s and the Royal Tug Yacht Club, to hold the charity guest bartending events.
