Wendy with Mele
Wendy, 73, was born and raised in upstate New York. As soon as she graduated with a fine arts degree from Syracuse University, a hospital hired her on a mural project. During the summer of ‘69, she used that money to buy a car and drive across the country, straight to San Francisco. She worked for Rolling Stone magazine before it relocated to New York City. Wendy has had art featured in countless publications and magazines, as well as an art gallery in Florence, Italy. She currently lives in Cow Hollow with her dog, Reggae, and her cat, Sammy, and continues to create art every day.
Mele, 21, was born and raised in San Jose, California. She is currently majoring in English with an emphasis in creative writing and minoring in music at the University of San Francisco. She’s also in the Dual Degree Teaching Program studying to be an elementary school teacher. Mele is a second-year Resident Advisor at USF and in her spare time likes to run, knit, write, make video blogs, and talk about social justice! She first started blogging and vlogging with Seventeen Magazine’s Freshman 15 panel. She hopes to dedicate a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after graduation.
