FallFest 2013 Samplying Gourmet FoodSan Francisco magazine’s FallFest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Justin Herman Plaza.

NOTE: All volunteers will be able to enjoy some food and wine at the event either before, after or during (with breaks) your shift depending on its time/duration.

SHIFT DESCRIPTIONS

  • Installation Assistants, FRIDAY NIGHT, 4pm until 8pm: Assist in installation team the morning of the event with set-up of tents, tables, chairs, signs, etc. Must be able to lift and tote
  • Installation Assistants, 8am—12n: Assist in installation team the morning of the event with set-up of tents, tables, chairs, signs, etc. Must be able to lift and tote
  • Volunteer Registration #1, 8am—12n: Work in the volunteer tent to check-in volunteers, answer questions, monitor food/beverages and help with set-up/clean-up
  • Volunteer Registration #2, 12pm—4pm: Work in the volunteer tent to check-in volunteers, answer questions, monitor volunteer food/beverages, help with set-up/clean-up
  • Silent Auction Set-up, 8am—12n: Assist with the set-up of display of silent auction items, tables, bid sheets in a stylish fashion before event
  • Food & Beverage Check-in assistants, 9am—1pm: Fast paced, assist with checking in all restaurants and wineries. Work with chef load-in volunteers
  • Food & Beverage Tent Monitor #1, 10am—2pm: Help with any supplies or services for restaurants, wineries, and gourmet purveyors at your assigned tents. Monitor tents and wine distribution
  • Food & Beverage Tent Monitor #2, 1pm—5pm: Help with any supplies or services for restaurants, wineries, and gourmet purveyors at your assigned tents. Monitor tents and wine distribution
  • Wine Seminar Tent Helpers #1, 10am—1pm: Help with any supplies or services of wineries in Wine Tent. Assist with organizing wine, monitoring wine tent and assisting with purchases
  • Wine Seminar Tent Helpers #2, 1pm—5pm: Help with any supplies or services of wineries in Wine Tent. Assist with organizing wine, monitoring wine tent and assisting with purchases
  • Cocktail Station Assistants 11am—4pm: Assist the bartender with any supplies or services inside the SF Mag Lounge.
  • Chef Demonstration Assistants, 11am—4pm: Assist with the prep and execution of a chef demonstration
  • Floaters, 11am—3pm: A “hurry up and wait” role, where you will be asked to help where help is needed at the event. This may include, but is not limited to, pouring wine for vintners who are short staffed, bussing tents, filling in so other volunteers get breaks, etc. When free from a task, report back to Danie or Volunteer Tent.
  • Raffle Sellers, 11am—4pm: Work the crowd in pairs, engage the guests to sell them raffle tickets, return tickets and cash to Auction/Raffle Manager.
  • Silent Auction Monitors, 11:30am—3:30pm: Help monitor the silent auction event, all items, answer guest questions and encourage bidding
  • Silent Auction Floaters, 12p5:30pm: A “Hurry up and wait” position where one fills in as necessary in the Silent Auction Area
  • Raffle Check-out, 12:30pm—4:30pm: Work with the Raffle Manager to complete raffle check-out with cash and credit card processing.
  • Silent Auction Check-Out: 2:30pm—5pm: Complete silent auction check-out with cash and credit card processing.
  • Chef Load-out/Floaters: 3pm—5:30pm: Help chefs load-out starting around 3:30 and will take on duties as assigned/needed. Must be able to lift and tote, moderate cleaning, dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Strike/Clean up, 3:30pm—7:30pm: help with all aspects of clean up. Dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
